No brewer has benefitted more from the recent upsurge in interest for more flavorful beers than Yuengling. With the late-80's reintroduction of its Yuengling Lager, a beer it hadn't produced for over 50 years, Yuengling was able to tap into a market thirsting for a more distinctive brew.

Touring the Yuengling plant in Pottsville is like taking a step back in time. The lovely old brick brewing house looks much the same as it did when it opened in 1830. On the factory tour, you'll see the giant stainless steel kettles where the beer is brewed, followed by the noisy and exciting bottling plant.

From there, it's off to a handsome wood-filled taproom, where visitors who are over 21 will be able to enjoy a brew or two. Throughout the tour, you'll learn about the importance of quality ingredients as well as the fascinating history of D.G. Yuengling and Son Brewing. The Yuengling factory tour is a can't miss!

Fun Facts:

  • During Prohibition, Yuengling survived by brewing non-alcoholic beer and by opening a dairy store across the street from the brewery.
  • Yuengling traces its history back to 1829, making it the oldest brewery in America.
  • On the day Prohibition was repealed, Yuengling sent a truckload of beer to President Franklin Roosevelt.
